How BN-IS helped a client get their Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central project over the line
When this client first approached BN-IS, their Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central project was at risk.
They had already chosen the system and hired a Microsoft Partner to handle the implementation. On paper, everything should have been moving along. In reality, progress had stalled.
The client’s internal team was stretched thin. They were trying to keep daily operations running while also driving a complex ERP implementation. Frustration was growing, deadlines were slipping, and a realistic go-live date felt out of reach.
“The project was at risk. We needed to get it moving – or risk it failing altogether.”
Understanding the problem
Two key challenges were holding the project back. First, the client’s team didn’t have the capacity to manage a project of this size alongside their day-to-day work. Second, collaboration with their Microsoft Partner had slowed down, and tasks were falling through the cracks.
The client recognised they needed help from someone who understood both the business needs and the technology. They wanted someone to step in, unblock the project, and see it through to the finish line.
How BN-IS helped
This is where BN-IS came in.
We brought hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC, especially in Supply Chain Management – Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, and Warehousing – as well as the insights we’d gained from supporting many other SMEs through similar projects.
Our role was simple but crucial: be the bridge between the client and their Microsoft Partner. We translated the business’s operational needs into clear technical actions, kept everyone aligned, and made sure the project started moving again.
We began by reviewing the system and the work done so far. That meant checking the standard functionality, identifying where custom development was needed, and validating the existing development plans.
Next, we helped shape how the system would actually be used day-to-day. We worked on data preparation and system setup, defined the right processes, and ensured the configuration matched how the business operated.
While doing this, we also took on the role of project driver. We managed testing to catch issues early, coordinated tasks between the client and their Microsoft Partner, and kept the project on track.
Finally, we focused on the people who would use the systems. We ran hands-on user training, gave ongoing guidance whenever questions came up, and stayed close to the team until they felt confident.
In short, we became an extension of their team – providing the time, expertise, and focus they needed to get the job done.
The outcome
With BN-IS involved, the project quickly regained momentum.
- Blockers were identified and resolved
- Communication between all parties improved
- The system went live successfully and on schedule
“With BN-IS on board, we went from stuck to live – and now we have a system that works for us.”
Beyond go-live, the relationship has continued. The client now sees BN-IS as a trusted partner and part of their extended team, ready to step in whenever they need support.
