David Chapman

David first started working with Microsoft technologies in the 80’s and was one of the very first people to attain Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer status in 1992. 

He went on to become a Microsoft certified trainer – delivering courses in datacentre technologies and infrastructure. This introduced David to the banking sector – pioneering the infrastructure for the UK’s first online mortgage application website.

This evolved into David designing and implementing resilient datacentre solutions that successfully delivered better than 99.999% availability for his clients.

His close relationship with these clients saw a number of them return to utilise his knowledge and unique expertise to manage the migration to full / hybrid cloud solutions to meet their evolving business needs.

David’s primary focus is now information security and he has helped a number of businesses achieve accreditations such as: Cyber Essentials, IASME and ISO 27001.

He is particularly interested in the psychological aspects of IS. His past experience has revealed that a deeper understanding of this psychology is the key to IS effectiveness when coupled with technical controls.

David has been working with Ben at BN-IS since the company was founded in 2008.

Outside of work David has recently completed the self build of his own low energy house and relaxes by restoring and using a collection of 1960s amphibious cars.
